RTR shuts down E/SWC behind Schreurs’ 15 strikeouts

RTR 3, E/SWMC 1 RUTHTON — Gavin Schreurs had an impressive performance on the mound Monday night, tossing 15 strikeouts while allowing just one hit to prevail the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton baseball team to a 3-1 win over Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian. Schreurs’ near no-hitter came through nearly a complete game, pitching six innings. RTR held E/SWMC off nearly the entire game, and allowed one run in the top of the seventh. Tiger track sweeps home opener

MARSHALL — The Marshall boys and girls track and field teams each earned first-place finishes at the Tigers’ home meet Monday afternoon. The Marshall boys finished with 172 points in a seven-team meet while the girls earned 159 points in an eight-team meet. Lakeview also finished third on both sides, with 118.5 points for the girls and 102 for the boys, and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton placed sixth for boys at 41.5 and eighth for girls with 12.
