BURNSVILLE -- After making the trip to Burnsville to compete in the Class A Showcase, Canby volleyball came away from the weekend with several strong performances and plenty of positives to build on.
The Lancers opened the weekend with a three-set victory over Chisholm, winning 26-14, 19-25, 15-8. Canby then fell to Lewiston-Altura in two sets, 27-15, 25-19, before closing out the weekend with a 25-20, 25-12 loss to Westbrook-Walnut Grove.
Tatum Christianson put together a strong weekend for the Lancers, finishing with 11 kills across the three matches. Her best offensive performance came against Lewiston-Altura, where she recorded six kills.
Christianson continued to establish herself as a key contributor for Canby, also recording five blocks during the weekend, including three in the victory over Chisholm.
Emily Verhelst also had a strong weekend at the service line, recording four aces.
The Lancers will return to action Sept. 29 when they host Dawson-Boyd. First serve is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
