MARSHALL -- The Marshall tennis team had no answer for Montevideo on Friday in a 6-1 loss.
Julia Pafko gave Marshall its lone win in singles No. 3, topping Jayla Kinmach 6-1, 6-3.
Kathryn Coudron put up a strong fight in the top singles matchup, but was swept 7-6 (4), 6-4 by Nora Mages. Cora MEdina also fell 6-0, 6-0 to EMily Koosmann in singles No. 2, and Emry Jans fell 6-0, 6-1 to Ava Spray.
Montevideo swept the day's doubles matchups. Maddie Kisner and Ava Weller fell 6-2, 6-0 to Emma Johnson and Becca Golden, Aarlow Ogren and Raya Georgen fell 6-2, 6-4 to Anja Wythe and Valeria Torcios, and Greta Bailey and Mallory Wendorff lost 6-1, 6-2 to Alex Joyce and Olivia Stolen-Jacobson.
Marshall falls to 1-15 on the season and next goes on the road to take on Pipestone Area on Monday at 4 p.m.
