To the editor: You can hardly make this up: Biden wanting to give 10K-20K student loan forgiveness to those who promised to pay it back. Biden allowing millions of illegals to cross our border while his Homeland Defense secretary declares that the border is closed. Almost laughable is the outrage 48 illegals being flown to the richest vacation island; (Martha’s Vineyard) in the in the country but then deported to a military base by 150 soldiers. Endorsing Gaul for District 15 Senate seat

To the editor: I am writing this letter to express my strong endorsement of Anita Gaul for Minnesota District 15’s Senate seat. In the years I’ve worked with her, I’ve found her to be a reasonable, enlightened colleague and a thoughtful, honest person. As an instructor, Anita is busy but – as all good instructors do – she makes time for her students because she legitimately cares about them and their futures. Ellison fighting for farmers

To The Editor: I attended a meeting with Attorney General Keith Ellison that was hosted in Marshall at the end of August. Along with 70 other people from SW Minnesota, I heard the Attorney General respond to questions from the crowd for a good hour or more – people raising up the issues that they face in their lives. He then stayed for another 45 minutes talking with people one-to-one or at their tables. Driveway is not a turnaround place

To the editor: I’ve talked about writing a letter to the editor for awhile and tonight I was upset enough to write it. If it sounds a little emotional, it’s because I felt helpless watching. We live on Highway 19 west and with the detour on Highway 68, traffic on our road has increased greatly. As you drive toward our farm site, we are the last place on the north side of the road before the first hill. Our place has a farm driveway and our acreage driveway. Principles of good government ignored

To the editor: We seem to continue to elect people that don’t understand the principles of good government as our Founders provided in our Constitution. Those principles apply to every aspect whether it be in our lives or the government. These principles have been ignored for far too long and they need to be resurrected and the only way to do that is through education. To the Editor: I unexpectedly awoke at 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Strangely, I began to think of my life, my family, and America’s current political division. Now wide awake, I grabbed my smartphone and began listing what I had been taught 70 years ago by my parents, teachers and the good people of southwest Minnesota.
