What will be taught on U.S.Constitution?

Dear Editor: With the new school year upon us, or recently started, it is also time to determine what your federally-funded educational institution plans to do, to comply with Public Law 108-447, signed by President George W. Bush, on Dec. 8, 2004. Within Section 111, of that law, we are informed that federal department or agency heads shall provide each new employee with information on the US Constitution and also that: “Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on [or about] ...

To the editor: Marshall is celebrating its 150th year. During the 47 years I have lived in Marshall, I have seen our city become a center for supporting music. We enjoy summer band concerts in the park, bands come here to learn and present their musical talents and we have been able to hear the Vienna Boys, Lorie Line and our own talent in our top-notch High School auditorium. Demand equal justice system

To the editor: If you read the fake news or listen to most mainstream TV, you are probably not aware of the “justice” system in the U.S; one for the common, everyday working class and the one meant for those of Democrat persuasion. Two cases in point — Hunter Biden’s laptop and how he was shielded from public scrutiny with the aid of law enforcement (they held on to the laptop for two years and still have not done much with it) and the recent case of Paul Pelosi’s DUI. DAV needs clothing for men, women, kids

To the editor: I recently spoke with Ed Lozinski, District Representative of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), regarding the clothing drive that is underway to help DAV members. There is an ongoing need for our Disabled American Veterans to have ample clothing to meet their needs. With that thought in mind, I ask everyone who is cleaning their closets to please consider putting the clothes in a bag and putting them into the DAV drop boxes located at Hy Vee, Walmart or the One Source store this summer, fall or throughout the year. Despite Budget Surplus, Greater Minnesota Seniors Left Behind in Legislative Session

During the 2022 session, senior care was on the forefront at the Capitol. Debates were taking place and proposals drafted. The Minnesota Senate approved substantial funding to increase base wages for aging services workers on a bipartisan basis, but then the House and governor did not follow suit.
