‘Hidden Histories’ talk to share stories of American Revolution

MARSHALL — Some less well-known stories about the Revolutionary War will be coming to light in May, as part of a talk at the Lyon County Museum. Area residents are invited to hear a presentation by southwest Minnesota author Erin Makela. Makela’s talk, “Hidden Histories of the American Revolution,” will discuss some of the people and events that inspired her historical fiction novels. Makela is an author and teacher from Worthington. Injuries reported in 3-vehicle crash on Hwy. 23

GREEN VALLEY — Four people, including three children, were injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday morning near Green Valley, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Some of the occupants of an SUV involved in the crash were taken to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. The crash was reported at 9:13 a.m. near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 23 and Lyon County Road 8, the State Patrol said.
