School Board hears update on roofing plans

MARSHALL — This fall, Marshall Public Schools will be taking steps toward a roofing project at two of its school buildings. At Monday’s school board meeting, Marshall Superintendent Jeremy Williams reported that a pre-bid meeting for roof replacement work at Marshall High School and Marshall Middle School is scheduled for Oct. 8. “So the bids will be going out, and information about that will be coming out,” Williams said. “Again, that project, we are looking to do a two-year project with that starting next summer. Two injured in Pipestone County crash

HOLLAND — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday near Holland in Pipestone County, the Minnesota State Patrol said. A Sioux Falls woman was taken to the Pipestone hospital with life-threatening injuries. The crash was reported at 1:09 p.m. at Minnesota Highway 23 and 140th Avenue. A 2011 Chevy Silverado driven by Tylan Ray Willia Gylling, 34, of Tyler, was southbound on Highway 23, and a 2022 Kia driven by Donald Harry Noyes, 76, of Sioux Falls, was northbound and making a turn onto 140th Avenue. Arts and Living History Fest moves indoors

MARSHALL — Marshall’s Arts and Living History Festival will give visitors a peek into the past this weekend, with arts and crafts, live music and family-friendly activities. With rain showers in the forecast for Saturday, the festival has also moved to a new location. “We are moving indoors, at the Red Baron Arena and Expo,” said Cassi Weiss, of Visit Marshall.
