MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's soccer team (0-4-1, 0-2-0 NSIC) dropped a 3-0 decision to Bemidji State (2-1-2, 1-0-1 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon at Mattke Field at the Schwan Regional Event Center. The Beavers finished the match with a 17-6 advantage in shots and held an 8-3 edge in shots on goal. Abigail Schmidt, Evie Boyle, and Sophia Wilson recorded the shots on target for the Mustangs. Canby shut out at home

CANBY — Brennan Giese’s 75 rushing yards weren’t enough to generate momentum for Canby as it fell 40-0 in a football game against MACCRAY on Friday. Giese led the Lancers offensively with nine carries for 74 yards, and Hunter Kack caught five of his 10 targets for 65 yards. Owen Peterson threw the ball 26 times, completing nine attempts for 116 yards and a pair of interceptions. Canby falls to 0-2 and next takes on juggernaut rival Minneota (2-0) on Friday at 7 p.m.

GRANITE FALLS — Aedyn Dahl and Colten Bothun led the charge for the Dawson-Boyd football team’s prolific rushing attack as it steamrolled Yellow Medicine East 41-0. The Blackjacks picked up 212 of their 297 yards on the ground as they cruised to a 20-0 lead by halftime and 21 third-quarter points. Bothun finished the day with three touchdowns and 70 yards on eight attempts, including each of the game’s first two touchdowns. TRACY — Aiden Sanow, Ty Yackley and Jackson Kruse each logged over 100 scrimmage yards for the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton football team on Friday, leading the Panthers to 30 first-quarter points in a 44-22 win over United South Central. Kruse finished the day with a game-high 107 rushing yards on 11 carries, finding the end zone three times. As a passer, he completed 12 of his 22 attempts for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns. MORGAN — Drew Kemp threw for four touchdowns and 234 yards on just 10 attempts for the Wabasso football team on Friday night, leading the Rabbits to a 62-0 win over Cedar Mountain. Among Kemp’s four touchdown passes was a 75-yard touchdown to Nolan Leopold, who finished the night with a team-high four catches for 124 yards. MARSHALL — Playing host to the 2026 Southwest Minnesota Challenge, Marshall volleyball continued to show why it has been so dominant early in the season. The Tigers opened their Friday, Sept. 11 slate against Sioux Falls Roosevelt and wasted little time taking control. Marshall cruised to a pair of convincing victories, winning 25-8 and 25-4 to sweep the Rough Riders.
