Mudcats take third in Alex tourney

ALEXANDRIA — The Marshall Mudcats split their matchups in their first tournament of the season over the weekend at a Senior Legion tournament in Alexandria. Marshall opened the tournament with a 10-4 win over Becker on Friday and an 8-1 win over Fargo on Saturday. Yet, the Mudcats fell 2-0 to Alexandria later in the day on Saturday and 3-0 on Sunday to close out the event. Marshall is now 3-2 on the season and next hosts the Marshall Wood Bat Classic from Friday through Sunday at Legion Field.
