The Big South Conference announced its All-Conference teams for girls basketball on Monday morning. The teams consisted of seven players from each of the three divisions with three honorable mentions per division. Among the White Division’s selections were Marshall sophomore guards Reese Drake and Taleigha Bigler.

Bigler was an honorable mention as a freshman last year — one of just two White Division freshmen recognized alongside New Ulm’s Brooklyn Lewis — while this was Drake’s first All-Conference nod.

Drake finished the year as Marshall’s leading scorer with 14.7 points per game on 46% shooting from the field and 35% shooting from 3-point range. On the defensive end of the court, she added a team-leading 3.9 steals per game in Marshall’s press defense.

Bigler was a versatile guard for the Tigers. Her 3.6 assists per game and 6.8 rebounds per game were both team-highs and her 3.5 steals per game were second on the team. She also provided 10.8 points per game and her 49 3-pointers were a team-high on the season.

Marshall finished the season with a 3-3 division record, finishing only ahead of eventual conference champion St. Peter. The Saints were 6-0 in the White Division and went on to defeat Marshall in the Section 2AAA championship as well.

New Ulm led the White Division with three All-Conference selections in Daviney Dreckman, Morgan Hulke and Brooklyn Lewis, as well as an honorable mention in Maddie Backer. St. Peter had a pair of selections in Rhyan Holmgren and Annika Southworth and Abby Maloney was an honorable mention. Worthington’s Madision Beckman was also an honorable mention.
