Hansen’s seven-inning shutout leads DB past Lakeview
COTTONWOOD — Nathan Hansen was nearly unhittable for the Dawson-Boyd baseball team, pitching seven shutout innings to lead the Blackjacks to an 8-0 road win over Lakeview.
Lakeview reached base a total of eight times in the game, totaling five hits, while Hansen struck out eight batters.
Hansen also singled twice on the offensive side of the plate while driving in a run. The only other Blackjack with multiple hits was Grayson Olson, who racked up a double and two singles while driving in a run.
Justin Timm and Caine Herigon led the Lakeview offense. Herigon singled twice while Timm hit a double.
Jordan Fischer also reached base twice on a single and a walk while Tucker Fiene singled and stole a base.
Herigon started on the mound for Lakeview and pitched four innings while allowing five hits and four runs. He also struck out three.
Aiden Swenson singled for RTR and drove in a pair of runs.
Despite not getting a hit in the game, Blake Thompson and Kameron Sather both scored two runs. Thompson walked twice in the game while Sather walked in all three of his plate appearances.
Dawson-Boyd (2-1) will look to get its third straight win when it hosts Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Saturday at 11 a.m.
Lakeview (2-4) will try to avoid its third straight loss when it goes on the road to play Minneota Monday at 4 p.m.
