Hammrich named to Central Region All-Defensive team
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Southwest Minnesota State University outfielder Henry Hammrich was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Central Region All-Defensive team, the ABCA announced on Thursday.
The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association, and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee. Players selected to the ABCA NCAA All-Defensive teams were eligible for ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors. The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners in all divisions were announced on June 17.
Hammrich, who will return for a final season in 2027, started 47 games and did not commit an error while recording 113 putouts with two assists. In two seasons, the Brookings, S.D., native has racked up 217 putouts and six assists, while committing two errors. His .991 fielding pct. ranks seventh in team history and first among outfielders.
Hammrich is the third Mustang to be named to the Central Region All-Defensive team, joining pitchers Kolby Kiser (2024) and Ryan Chmielewski (2023).
