ST. MICHAEL– The Canby Lancers competed in a two-day volleyball Invitational tournament over the weekend. The Lancers would go 3-2, placing 19th out of 32 teams that participated. They would defeat Woodbury, Monticello, and Germantown. The Lancers would love to Maple Grove and Waconia.

Freshman Karlie Wollum led the team in kills with 38 over the tournament. Wollum also had 36 digs. Teammate Aliyah Rangaard led the team in digs with 46 over the tournament and Paige Nelson led the team in assists with 45. Brynn Kockelman would be second on the team in assists with 32. Head coach Jenai Wright spoke about the tournament and her team’s performance in it.

“We went 3-2 for the weekend,” Wright said. “It is a great experience for our kids to battle it out against teams mostly from the metro area.”

The Canby Lancers are now (14-13) on the season and will host the Lakeview Lakers next Tuesday evening.
