EDGERTON — The Red Rock Central Falcons volleyball team season came to an end by losing to the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen in straight sets 30-28, 25-18, and 25-20 on Monday evening.
Senior Jada Radmaker led her team in kills with nine in the contest. Senior Emily Decock led the team in digs with 16 and Maia Scheffler was second on the team in digs with 15. Decock also led the team in assists with 21 on the night.
“It was a very tough season for the team, both mentally and physically,” Falcons head coaches Cierra Fast and Brittni Baune. “We were plagued with injuries from the very beginning and even have a few surgeries coming up because of it. However, the girls never gave up and they came to practice and games every single day with a positive attitude.”
“We’ve seen many teams fall apart because of losses, bad attitudes kick in, and arguing amongst teammates, but fortunately, our girls didn’t fall to that level and we are so proud of them. They were such a fun team to coach and kept a positive and fun atmosphere the entire season. We have a class of 11 seniors between players and managers and they will be so dearly missed because of their incredible work ethic, kind hearts, and fun personalities. As for the underclassmen, we are bringing back some experience but have a lot of work to do to fill the holes that will be left by our graduating class.”
