Prep baseball roundup May 1, 2026
TMB 9, E/SWC 8
TRACY — Griffin Zick walked off a win for the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton baseball team, literally, on Friday against Edgerton/Southwest Christian. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Zick took ball four to force across the winning run, handing the Panthers a 9-8 victory.
The two teams were tied at seven runs apiece through seven innings, and they both went scoreless in the first two extra innings before a double and an RBI single gave the Dutchmen a one-run lead.
Taylor Squires hit a leadoff double in the bottom of the 10th and scored the tying run on a Connor Lanoue double. David Schuh then reached base on a dropped third strike and Jackson Kruse singled to load the bases with no outs for Zick.
Kruse, Aiden Sanow and Brody Hauger each had a pair of hits in the game, including doubles for Kruse and Hauger. Schuh, Lanoue and Squires each reached base three times with a double and two walks.
Hauger earned the win on the mound for the Panthers after throwing 3 2/3 innings of relief, limiting TMB to one earned run on two hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
Schuh pitched the first four innings for TMB, giving up five earned runs on five hits and four walks with eight strikeouts. Squires, meanwhile, tossed the first 2 1/3 innings of relief while giving up a pair of unearned runs on two hits and three walks with five strikeouts.
TMB trailed 3-0 after the first inning and 5-1 after the second. Still, the Panthers slowly battled their way back into the game.
The comeback commenced in the fifth inning. Lanoue walked before scoring on a Schuh double, and Schuh went on to score on a sacrifice fly. Sanow also singled before scoring on a Hauger double to cut the deficit to a point.
E/SWC scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh, but TMB responded with its back against the wall. Schuh got the rally started by drawing a walk and scoring on a Zick single, and Sanow reached on an error to put runners on the corners with one out. Zick scored on a passed ball, though a strikeout put two away with the tying run on second, but Lanoue singled and a balk sent Sanow home before a strikeout ended the inning.
TMB improves to 3-6 after ending its three-game skid and gets back to the diamond on Monday with a Camden Conference matchup against Central Minnesota Christian in Prinsburg at 4:30 p.m.

KMS 5, Canby 4
SUNBURG — A last-inning rally left the Canby baseball team on the wrong end of a walk off for the second day in a row. After falling to Dawson-Boyd in extra innings on Thursday, Canby led up until the seventh inning of its game against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Friday. Yet, the Saints strung together five runs in the bottom of the frame to down the Lancers 5-4.
An error and a walk set up an RBI double for KMS in the bottom of the seventh, and a hit batter put the tying run on base with no outs. A bases-loaded walk and a passed ball each scored another Saints run to tie the game with no outs in the frame, and after a single and a fielder’s choice loaded the bases with one away, KMS hit a hard grounder into left field to walk off the Lancers.
Despite the loss, Cody Stoll pitched a quality game for the Lancers. He threw the first six innings and started the seventh, finishing with one earned and one unearned run allowed on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts.
Will Abrahamson was charged with the loss after surrendering three earned runs on four hits and a walk while getting one out.
Jace Sigler hit a leadoff single in the second and scored on a Morgen Tol double to give the Lancers an early lead. Tol went on to score on a Cash Antony single to make the score 2-0.
Sigler finished with a team-leading three hits, including a double, while Tol and Antony each added another pair of hits.
With two outs in the fourth, Canby added another insurance run when Matthew Zitzmann singled and scored on an Antony single to center field, bringing the score to 3-0.
Canby falls to 4-3 with the loss and aims to return to the win column when it heads to Madison for a Camden Conference battle against Lac qui Parle Valley, Monday at 4:30 p.m.
