SECTION CROSS COUNTRY: Multiple area teams, individuals qualify for state meet

MADISON — Multiple area boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Section 3A meet on Thursday, with a couple of teams and several individuals qualifying for the state meet.

Girls

On the girls side, Fulda/Murray County Central took second with a team score of 69 to qualify for state, with Luverne taking first (50) to advance. Canby/Minneota took third with a score of 78, followed by Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd in eighth (233), Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in 14th (406), Yellow Medicine East in 15th (425), Wabasso in 16th (435) and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in 17th (443). Lakeview recorded an incomplete team score.

Individually, Canby/Minneota’s Grace Drietz (6th, 19:26.54), Claire Stoks (7th, 19:50.20) and Braelyn Merritt (8th, 20:05.41) all qualified.

For Fulda/MCC, Amanda Overgaauw took first with a time of 18:01.58 while Ashley Overgaauw took fourth with a time of 18:51.92, Brylei Schreier took ninth with a time of 20:10.30, Ella Stapek took 22nd with a time of 21:14.96, Quinti Parra-Mendez took 34th with a time of 22:13.49, Megan Bakke took 38th with a time of 22:23.30 and Ryanna Schreier took 50th with a time of 22:46.67.

For Canby/Minneota, in addition to Drietz, Stoks and Merritt, Hannah Vlaminck took 27th with a time of 21:44.27 while Lillie Wollum took 30th with a time of 21:59.52, Nohemi Diaz took 46th with a time of 22:38.23 and Hannah Fadness took 58th with a time of 23:08.83.

For LQPV/DB, Anika Fernholz took 28th with a time of 21:44.64 while Mya Conroy took 39th with a time of 22:23.68, Taylor Shelstad took 48th with a time of 22:44.52, Taylor Wood took 60th with a time of 23:15.35, Chloe Gloege took 62nd with a time of 23:21.88, Reese Ochsendorf took 69th with a time of 23:33.91 and Kendall Johnson took 76th with a time of 23:59.57.

For RTR, Summer LeBrune took 59th with a time of 23:11.98 while Autumn LeBrune took 67th with a time of 23:29.15, Jaeryn Buchert took 71st with a time of 23:42.32, Clara Pagel took 103rd with a time of 25:22.09, Faith Thomsen took 122nd with a time of 27:07.74, Kate Cowell took 124th with a time of 27:19.48, Sara Dwire took 127th with a time of 28:05.18 and Maryann Pagel took 128th with a time of 28:25.54.

For YME, Anjali Pullan took 41st with a time of 22:25.68 while Sanjana Pullan took 54th with a time of 22:58.34, Violet Anderson took 110th with a time of 25:38.10, Karina Jahn took 115th with a time of 26:15.70 and Izabella Anderson took 125th with a time of 27:27.09.

For Wabasso, Isabel Plaetz took 82nd with a time of 24:13.05 while Allison Parker took 88th with a time of 24:26.15, Peyton Jenniges took 89th with a time of 24:27.79, Jocelyn Jenniges took 91st with a time of 24:29.58, Annabelle Struntz took 92nd with a time of 24:36.82, Addison Jensen took 93rd with a time of 24:38.68 and Lizzy Morin took 97th with a time of 24:53.31.

For TMB, Annaka Hook took 64th with a time of 23:24.10 while Marin Knott took 75th with a time of 23:58.87, Madison Timmerman took 87th with a time of 24:24.02, Mallorie Hicks took 111th with a time of 25:41.05 and Mandie Pond took 123rd with a time of 27:17.61.

For Lakeview, Anah Schmidt took 98th with a time of 25:11.38 while Savanna Louwagie took 108th with a time of 25:36.97, Faith Louwagie took 117th with a time of 26:34.37 and Kiannalee Olson took 121st with a time of 27:00.53.

Boys

On the boys side, LQPV/DB took first with a team score of 75 to qualify for state, with Luverne taking second (81) to advance. Canby/Minneota took third with a score of 93, followed by Fulda/MCC in 10th (281), Lakeview in 17th (425), RTR in 18th (505) and Wabasso in 19th (534). YME and TMB recorded an incomplete team score.

Individually, Canby/Minneota’s Zach Ourada (6th, 17:06.13) and Kolton Duis (9th, 17:19.48) qualified.

For LQPV/DB, Payton Sterud took fourth with a time of 16:55.03 while Mason Brehmer took 13th with a time of 17:37.30, Kaiden Allpress took 18th with a time of 17:47.73, Eli Hegland took 19th with a time of 17:55.82, Gavin Carl took 21st with a time of 18:01.31, Taden Clark took 40th with a time of 18:42.82 and Tygan Allpress took 43rd with a time of 18:47.45.

For Canby/Minneota, in addition to Ourada and Duis, Blake Stoks took 20th with a time of 17:59.75 while Blake Giese took 25th with a time of 18:12.19, Tristin Biershenk took 33rd with a time of 18:31.57, Colton Ruether took 38th with a time of 18:39.41 and Michael Tol took 65th with a time of 19:34.85.

For Fulda/MCC, Evan Bumgardner took 16th with a time of 17:43.49 while Caleb Appel took 48th with a time of 18:58.24, Silas Stapek took 61st with a time of 19:30.28, Jon Olsem took 78th with a time of 20:06.10, Tanner Graphenteen took 81st with a time of 20:07.74, Zach Kirchner took 95th with a time of 21:04.81 and Rylan Engelkes took 99th with a time of 21:14.08.

For Lakeview, Ethan Schwankl took 17th with a time of 17:47.28 while Cole Arends took 91st with a time of 20:45.51, Cole Remiger took 92nd with a time of 20:49.82, Gideon Basel took 117th with a time of 22:47.87, Tate Remiger took 125th with a time of 23:40.46 and Thane Matthys took 128th with a time of 24:21.43.

For RTR, Aidan Johnson took 71st with a time of 19:53.66 while Logan Roelofs took 87th with a time of 20:28.98, Isaac Norgaard took 111th with a time of 22:11.11, Emmett Petersen took 127th with a time of 24:15 and Tarin Bingham took 131st with a time of 24:54.91.

For Wabasso, Tavyn Larson took 88th with a time of 20:31.26 while Aidan Kampsen took 113th with a time of 22:22.55, Ty Bernardy took 115th with a time of 22:41.42, Andrew Morin took 116th with a time of 22:47.51, Noah Pope took 126th with a time of 23:58.01 and Jacob Doyle took 132nd with a time of 24:55.35.

For YME, Ean Clarke took 108th with a time of 21:32.63 while Connor Olson took 120th with a time of 22:57.26.

For TMB, Carter Sweetman took 57th with a time of 19:26.84 while Gage Struchen took 112th with a time of 22:18.44, Cade Swenhaugen took 118th with a time of 22:48.33 and Ryder Anderson took 121st with a time of 23:23.12.

The Class A meet will be held on Nov. 6 at St. Olaf College in Northfield, with times to be determined.
