Milroy Yankees snap streak with 7-5 win against Raymond

RAYMOND — The Milroy Yankees snapped a three-game losing streak with a 7-5 victory over Raymond on Sunday.

David Schmidt led the way for the Yankees with three hits while Matt Bauer added two hits, including a home run and three RBI and Andy Schmidt also had a pair of hits, including a home run and two RBI.

Austin Deutz earned the victory for Milroy, going eight innings while allowing three runs on 10 hits and struck out three.

Eric Hulterstum led the way for Raymond with two hits and an RBI while Mike Jeseritz and Eli Nelson each added a pair of hits.

Caleb Ditmarson took the loss on the mound, going six innings while allowing five runs on seven hits and struck out 10.

The Yankees will face Willmar on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. while Raymond will face Hutchinson on July 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Milroy Irish 14, Adrian 1 (7 innings)

MILROY — The Milroy Irish amateur baseball team wrapped up their regular season with a 14-1 victory over Adrian in seven innings on Sunday.

Tyler Patterson and Zac Cain led the way for the Irish with a couple of hits each, including a two-run home run apiece.

Tyler Peterson earned the victory on the mound, going all seven innings while allowing seven hits.

The Irish earned the No. 2 seed in the Gopher League and will host the seventh seed from the First Nite League (Worthington) in a best-of-three series. Game 1 is Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Irish Yard.
