SMSU TENNIS: SMSU falls short against Webber International, 6-3

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University won five of six singles matches to help secure a 6-3 victory over Southwest Minnesota State in women’s tennis on Wednesday morning at the WIU Campus Tennis Courts.

SMSU, which falls to 4-9 overall, recorded victories at both No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Gabby Tellijohn and Hannah Starke earned an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Paige Janka and Gabby Potthoff picked up an 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 3 doubles.

Potthoff also earned SMSU’s lone point in singles play with a 7-5, 7-5 at No. 6.

Southwest Minnesota State concludes its spring trip today with a 9:30 a.m. CST match versus Northwestern College (Iowa) in Haines City.
