HUTCHINSON – The Southwest Swim Club attended the Minnesota Regional Championships in Hutchinson over the weekend.

The meet is for swimmers that have obtained a “B” time standard but have not yet obtained a “CHAMP” time standard in a given event. SSC had 20 swimmers qualify to compete in 102 individual events and five relay events.

Of those events, SSC had 69 personal best times, five new CHAMP times, and three Regional Champions, who are Hailey Brandt (11-12 Girls 100 & 200 Fly), Alina Smirnova (13-14 Girls 100 & 200 Breast) and Sabrina Perrault (17&Over 1650 Free).

The SSC swimmers advancing to the Minnesota Age Group State Championships in Rochester on March 16-19 are: Hailey Brandt, Alina Smirnova and Nyssa Bentz.
