To the editor: Re: Minnesota’s state flag question should end in a public vote Feb. 3 Mr. (Jim) Muchlinski and all area residents will be pleased to know that our local libraries and historical societies recognized the need for the public to be more informed about the new state flag and seal, how and why they were created, and the implementation process. To the editor: The author of ‘Denying reality doesn’t help’ (1-18-24) should re-read the first paragraph in my Dec. 20 letter. I said nothing about volcanoes causing global warming by their CO2 emissions. I closed my letter with: “It’s a cyclic thing in which sun, volcanoes and cloud cover are the main climate drivers — not man.” The references to volcanoes in my letter are centered around their ability to block the sun’s energy by shading the ocean with massive ash clouds. To the editor: A comment on the article in Wednesday, Jan. 31, newspaper “Stronger communities, stronger economy.” I appreciate the time these panelists took for this meeting to talk about the challenges we face in southwest Minnesota for economic growth. In reading the newspaper article, several quotes caught my attention — like people are choosing southwest Minnesota to live in rather than the Twin Cities or Chicago, and that we are going to need all the tech and knowledge to compete. Going above and beyond in his job

To the editor: Every once in awhile you come across a guy that goes above and beyond in his job. Such a man is Andy Meulebroeck. That is why I was happy to see that Andy was recognized as Marshall city employee of the year. During 2022 and 2023 I had a business located at Marshall Airport. Anytime I needed anything, a quick call to Andy was all that was needed. It made no difference what day of the week or time of the day, I knew I could call on him to help solve whatever issue I might be having. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. What Is It? Life stolen away? Life abundant? It is health care — it being death

To the editor: Leveraging language that is increasingly ambiguous against us, the author of deceit seeks to deceive society and its members such that it is death that becomes health care in a culture of death. Caught in the liar’s web, the father of lies morphs us into thieves with which he steals life from us to make it be death we desire.
