To the editor: The Bill of Rights (the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution) addresses the rights of citizens and the limitations of their government’s power. Originally, the Bill of Rights did not speak to these principles in regard to individual states. To the editor: As the stock market sets record highs, seven tech stocks account for 30% of the S&P 500 stock index. Americans own much of the technology sector, but we do not necessarily build it. Using designs invented in America, about 90% of the high-end semiconductors are made in Taiwan. When Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine to restore the Soviet Communist empire, his friend, Communist Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, was threatening to invade Taiwan. To the editor: Please, please, please, I’m calling on all Republicans who want to keep our country from becoming a dictatorship to step up and call out Donald Trump for the tyrant that he is. ‘Real’ Minnesota flag still available online

To the editor: On March 12, there was a meeting at the Lyon Co Library to discuss the new design of the Minnesota State Flag. It is sort of ironic how fast the DFL dominated House and Senate was able to pass the less than popular flag design with the help of an unelected panel. Contrary to what was said, history is being erased. The new seal of Minnesota has no reference to when we were admitted to the union with the explanation that everyone knows the year.
