Balaton man pleads guilty to child porn possession

MARSHALL — A Balaton man pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography, Lyon County court records said Tuesday.

Anthony James Jandl, 31, pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing pornographic work involving minors.

According to a criminal complaint, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was contacted in February 2022 about a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A cloud storage service had flagged images in an account associated with Jandl’s cellular phone, the complaint said. Pornographic images involving minors were extracted from the phone, the complaint said.

At Tuesday’s hearing, the court accepted Jandl’s guilty pleas ordered a pre-sentencing investigation. A sentencing hearing was set for May 16, court records said.
