‘Singing church’ to hold eighth Hymn Festival

WOOD LAKE — Music and singing have long been a big part of worship at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. But once a year, church members get together to “dress up” the hymns they sing a little, pastor Johann Caauwe said. On Sunday, St. John’s will hold its eighth annual Hymn Festival. MARSHALL — The Marshall City Council took action Tuesday to help finance planned construction on South Fifth Street and North High Street, as well as for updates to city parks and athletic fields. Record temperatures possible for Marshall

MARSHALL — Unusually warm weather could hit southwest Minnesota this weekend, with temperatures reaching nearly 60 degrees. Temperatures that warm may set new records for Marshall, said Samantha Garrett, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Sioux Falls. In Marshall, daytime temperatures are forecast to get into the upper 50s this weekend, with a high of 56 degrees on Friday, 59 degrees on Saturday and 58 degrees on Sunday.
