MARSHALL — A Lynd man was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup and a box truck in Marshall on Friday, the Minnesota State Patrol said Friday.

The State Patrol has not yet released information on the man’s identity.

The crash was reported at 2:47 p.m. at Minnesota Highway 23 and U.S. Highway 59 in Marshall. A 2013 Dodge Ram driven by a 69-year-old Lynd man was traveling northbound on Highway 23, while a 2007 Freightliner straight truck driven by Taylor Ronald Schmidt, 30, of Ruthton, was turning southbound onto Highway 59, the State Patrol said. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The State Patrol said information on the driver of the Dodge would not be released until this morning. A State Patrol media release said the crash involved a person not wearing a seat belt. The release said Schmidt was wearing a seat belt, and was uninjured.
