NEW ULM — Landon Marthaler picked up his 100th career win on Tuesday night as the Marshall wrestling team picked up a pair of wins over New Ulm and Worthington.

The Tigers opened their night with a 39-25 win over New Ulm and closed out with a lopsided 67-6 win over Worthington.

Gavin Schaefer was the lone wrestler with a pair of pins on the day. Lincoln Christenson, Dylan Louwagie, Brayden Chandler, Tate Condezo and Aidan Mattison each got a pin in their match against New Ulm while Dawson DeCamp and Tucker Fiene each got one against Worthington. Christenson’s pin was his 25th of his career.

Mattison also picked up his 60th career victory in the triangular.

Marshall will next compete on Saturday when it heads to Buffalo High School for a 10 a.m. meet.

Minneota places 13th at Rogers tourney

ROGERS — The Minneota wrestling team scored a team total of 68 points at Rogers Holiday Matness over the weekend to take 13th place in the 32-team event.

Adam DeVlaeminck was the team’s top wrestler on the day with a fifth-place finish in 127 while Blake Mead took sixth place in 107. Kaden Lasnetski also placed seventh in 114 while Alex DePestel placed eighth in 172.

Minneota will next head to Slayton for a quadrangular on Thursday at 5 p.m.

United takes 10th at Rumble on the Red

FARGO, N.D. — The Dawson-Boyd/Lac qui Parle/Montevideo United wrestling team scored 78 points at the Rumble on the Red over New Year’s weekend to claim 10th place at the 74-team event.

Daniel Gunlogson was United’s lone individual champion in 139 while Eli Olson and Brady Rhode each took home a sixth-place finish for the Blackjacks.

Mounds View won the meet with 177 points while Shakopee took second at 166 and Albert Lea Area rounded out the podium at 105.

Canby placed 31st with 36 points and Fulda/Murray County Central took 63rd with 6 points.

Murray County Central/Fulda will host a quadrangular on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Slayton for its next meet while Canby and United will head to Osakis and B.O.L.D. respectively on Friday at 5 p.m.
