Rokeh, Marshall eke out dual win over Worthington

BOYS GOLF

Marshall 174, Worthington 175

WORTHINGTON — Morgan Rokeh’s first-place finish helped the Marshall boys golf team edge out Worthington by a single stroke Tuesday night, giving the Tigers a 174-175 win over the Trojans.

Rokeh was the lone Tiger to place in the top four of the dual. He birdied two of his first three holes as well as his final hole to round out the day at a 4-over 39.

Worthington took second, third and fourth place, but Marshall’s depth was enough to overcome the Trojans’ top performers. Easton Jiskoot was Marshall’s No. 2 scorer, shooting a 9-over 44, and McCoy Guenther and Milo Swenson placed directly behind him with a 45 and 46.

Carson Kopitski and Cooper Zent also competed for Marshall on the day, placing 10th with a 49 and 11th with a 52, respectively.

Marshall returns to action on Wednesday at the Sleepy Eye United Invitational, teeing off at Oakdale Golf Club at 10 a.m.

HLOF/WWG at Adrian triangular

ADRIAN — Neil Kuehl and Connor Jackels tied for the top individual finish at Tuesday’s Adrian triangular, leading the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove to a win.

HLOF/WWG finished with a team score of 166, edging out Southwest Minnesota Christian/Edgerton’s 169. Adrian/Ellsworth placed third with a 219.

Kuehl and Jackels each shot a 4-over 40 at the three-team event. Both golfers were consistent throughout the round, finishing with five birdies each.

Brady Madison also tied SWC/E’s Kade Fey for third place, with Madison shooting a 41 highlighted by a hole-4 birdie.

Dominic Lee rounded out the HLOF/WWG scorers in ninth with a 45, also notching a birdie on hole 5.

While not scoring, Kyle Curry and Kellen Hollahan shot a 49 and 50 to place 12th and 13th, respectively.

HLOF/WWG returns to the links on Thursday when it heads to Slayton Country Club for a Red Rock Conference meet at 2 p.m.

Dawson-Boyd 162, first place

RAYMOND — Evan Mork finished first overall individually to help pace the Dawson-Boyd boys golf team to a top finish on Tuesday at the 9-Hole Camden North Meet at Hawk Creek Country Club. The Blackjacks tied with Central Minnesota Christian for first place with a 162.

Mork carded a 1-over 37 with a birdie on hole 9 to win the meet, with Evan Menning following one stroke behind in second place. Menning shot a 2-over 38.

There were six competing teams at the invite.

Landon Kemen came in 10th for the Blackjacks with a 7-over 43, and Carson Stratmoen followed with an 8-over 44 to finish in 14th.

Owen Schindler and Nolen Kemem rounded out Dawson-Boyd, as each tied for 21st with an 11-over 47.

Dawson-Boyd will next compete at the Section 5A Quad at Eagle Creek on Friday at noon, and will host a Camden North Meet on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Dawson Golf Course.

GIRLS GOLF

Marshall 186, Worthington 211

WORTHINGTON — Dayton Webskowski, Anna Thor and Maddi Panka took each of the top three spots in the Marshall girls golf team’s dual against Worthington on Tuesday, leading the Tigers to a 186-211 win over the Trojans.

Webskowski led the field with a 4-over 39. She finished with a par or better on each of her first four holes, including a birdie on hole 2.

Thor and Panka rounded out the podium, Thor shooting a 45 behind four pars and Panka carding a 48 with a birdie on hole 8.

Ava Weller rounded out the Tigers’ scorers with a 54, good for seventh place. Kathryn Gordon and Emry Weller also competed, placing eighth and ninth with a 56 and 57, respectively.

Marshall returns to action on Wednesday at the Sleepy Eye United Invitational, teeing off at Oakdale Golf Club at 10 a.m.

HLOF/WWG 247

ADRIAN — The Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda girls golf team competed in a dual against Southwest Minnesota Christian/Edgerton on Tuesday, finishing with a team score of 247. SWC/E did not field a team score in the dual.

Cadey Brown was the Coyotes’ top individual, placing second with a 51 with a par on hole 6. Ava Herding also placed third with a 53.

Hannah Post and Ellie Freking rounded out the HLOF/WWG scorers in fifth with a 65 and sixth with a 79, respectively.

SWC/E had just two golfers in the event, led by Jaelyn Fick in first place with a 48.

HLOF/WWG returns to the links on Thursday when it heads to Farmers Golf & Health Club in Sanborn for a Red Rock Conference meet at 2 p.m.

Dawson-Boyd 175, second place

RAYMOND — The Dawson-Boyd girls golf team took second place at the Camden North Meet at the Hawk Creek Country Club on Tuesday, powered by Alyssa Swedzinski’s fourth-place individual finish.

The Blackjacks finished in second as a team with a score of 175, three strokes behind Lac qui Parle Valley’s first-place score of 172.

Swedzinski led the Blackjacks with a 4-over 40 to come in fourth place, just two strokes behind Molly Halvorson of LQPV, who finished first with a 2-over 38. Hope Reid of Community Christian and Peyton Sachs with LQPV tied in second with a 3-over 39.

There were three competing teams in the meet, with Community Christian taking third with a 184.

Claire Stratmoen also had a good performance, coming in fifth place with a 5-over 41. Laura Schreier and Kylar Hjelmeland both followed in eighth with an 11-over 47, while Chloe Stratmoen carded a 50 to take 10th place.

Myiah Bothun rounded out the Blackjacks in 19th with a score of 58.

Dawson-Boyd girls will next host a Camden North Meet on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Dawson Golf Course.
