Christianson ties Knights’ single-game school record in win over Dragons

ADRIAN — Blake Christianson tied a single-game school record for made 3s in a game on Thursday for Russell-Tyler-Ruthon on the way to a 93-58 win over Adrian in Red Rock Conference boys basketball action.

Christianson finished with eight made 3s and 30 points while also collecting eight assists. Drew Werkman added 28 points, 11 rebounds and four steals for RTR, while Carson Gylling had 19 points and nine assists.

RTR (11-5, 6-2) hosts Southwest Minnesota Christian on Saturday.

Canby 81,

Ortonville 41

ORTONVILLE — Four Lancers scored in double-figures on Thursday night as the Canby boys basketball team defeated Ortonville 81-41.

Kolton Duis led the Lancers with 17 points on 3-of-9 3-point shooting while Michael Tol added another 16 points on 5-of-10 from the field. Zach Ourada also tallied 13 points while making five of his nine attempts and Brady Hulzebos scored 11 points on just four field goal attempts.

Tol led the Lancers on the glass with eight rebounds while Cayden Anderson added another seven. Duis also stole the ball four times.

Canby (10-6) will host Central Minnesota Christian (9-5) on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

LQPV 100, TMB 68

MADISON — Lac qui Parle Valley downed Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 100-68 on Thursday night in a Camden Conference boys basketball game.

Alex Munson led TMB with 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while Trevor Smith had 13 points and five assists, Brian Erbes had 10 points and Griffin Zick had 9 points and four steals.

Matthew Arndt led LQPV with 31 points, while Davis Patzer added 23.

MACCRAY 81,

Lakeview 43

CLARA CITY — The scoring prowess of Tyden Marczak and Braylon Breyfogle wasn’t enough for the Lakeview boys basketball team to steal a win against MACCRAY on Thursday night as the Lakers dropped their 10th straight game, 81-43.

Marczak scored a team-high 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting from 3-point range while Breyfogle added another 15 pointson 5-of-10 from the field. Marczak also grabbed four rebounds and a steal in the game.

Cody Helmke led Lakeview on the glass with 11 boards in the game while also blocking a shot. Ian taylor also had a pair of steals and a pair of assists.

Lakeview (4-14) will host Springfield on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

CMC 66, YME 20

PRINSBURG — Central Minnesota Christian defeated Yellow Medicine Easwt 66-20 Thursday in a Camden Conference boys baksetball game.

Eric Labatte led the Sting with 6 points, whiel Rick Enney had 3 points and five rebounds. 

YME (1-14, 0-9) travels to Wabasso on Friday. 

HBC 59, RRC 47

LAMBERTON — Hills-Beaver Creek topped Red Rock Central 59-47 on Thursday night in a Red Rock Conference boys basketball game.

Jayden Lang led the Falcons in the loss with 19 points, while Isaac Simonson added 12 points, 18 rebounds, six assists and five blocks. Ashton Holmen and Corey Arkell added 8 points apiece for RRC.

HBC was led by Jamin Metzger’s 18 points.

RRC (8-8, 3-6) travels to Okabena to take on Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda in conference action Saturday night.
