DAWSON — The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks volleyball team dropped a five set match to the Renville County West Jaguars 21-25, 25-13, 13-25, 25-18 and 10-15 on Friday evening.

Kate Dahl for the Blackjacks led her team in kills with 17 and also contributed 15 digs in the contest. Dahl would also record her 500th kill in her career Aiyana Hastad was second on the team in kills with 11 and she also had 14 digs in the match. Teammate Bailey Bothun led the team in digs with 17 and Alli Estling had 16 digs. Chelsie Husby led the team in assists with 38 on the contest.

“It was a battle of slow starts,” Head coach Hailey Gritmacker said. “Some games RCW jumped out ahead and sometimes it was us, it just didn’t fall our way in the 5th but we battled hard again and I am so proud of my team.”

This contest concluded the regular season play of the Blackjacks. The Blackjacks finished with a record of (6-22) on the season and will play next in the sectional playoff tournament starting in less than two weeks.
