JUNIOR LEGION BASEBALL: Marshall Junior Legion Black 17U earns pair of wins in Cold Spring tournament

COLD SPRING — The Marshall Junior Legion Black 17U baseball team won a pair of games in the Cold Spring tournament on Friday, defeating Albany 3-1 and Cold Spring 12-11.

Against Albany, Braeden Myhre and Jude Knudson led Marshall with a hit and an RBI each while Carter Kepler added a hit and Braxton Koster had an RBI. Karson Rowe earned the win on the mound, going 6 2/3 innings while allowing one run on five hits and struck out 14.

Against Cold Spring, Collin Klenken led Marshall with three hits and three RBIs while Coby Brownlee added three hits and Koster and Juehl Morman each had two hits and combined for three RBIs. Koster earned the start, going 3 1/3 innings while allowing six runs on two hits and struck out three. Drew Parsons earned the win in relief, going 2 2/3 innings while allowing five runs on five hits and struck out one.

Marshall (3-0) will play in the championship of the tournament today.
