PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Area golf teams compete in Day 1 of Section 5A meet

WILLMAR — A couple of area boys and girls golf teams competed in Day 1 of the Section 5A meet on Friday at Eagle Creek Golf Club. On the boys side, Dawson-Boyd is in third with a team score of 351 while Yellow Medicine East is in fourth with a 361. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa is in first with a 338, followed by Benson in second (340), Community Christian in fifth (369), Lac qui Parle Valley in sixth (379), Central Minnesota Christian in seventh (380), MACCRAY in eighth (381), BOLD in ninth (385) and Renville County West in 10th (408). On the girls side, Dawson-Boyd recorded an incomplete team score. LQPV is in first with a 353, followed by BOLD in second (379), Community Christian in third (443) and MACCRAY in fourth (458).

Boys

DB

For DB, Collin Swedzinski led with an 82 and is tied for fourth place while Drew Hjelmeland had an 87 and is tied for 11th, Carson Stratmoen had a 90 and is in 16th, Evan Mork had a 92 and is tied for 19th, Pau Clemens Suau had a 101 and is tied for 37th and Colin Jorgens had a 117 and is in 54th.

YME

For YME, Cooper McCosh led with an 85 and is tied for ninth while Nick Moritz had a 91 and is tied for 17th, James Peterson had a 92 and is tied for 19th, Nikson Knapper had a 93 and is tied for 22nd, Brayton Hammer had a 118 and is tied for 55th and Parker Levitz had a 120 and is in 57th.

Girls

DB

For DB, Lindsey Lund led with an 88 and is tied for fourth while Alyssa Swedzinski had a 99 and is in ninth place.

The final round will be held on Wednesday in Willmar at 9 a.m.

(Redwood Falls)

REDWOOD FALLS — Multiple area track and field teams competed in Day 1 of the Section 3A meet on Thursday. On the boys side, Lakeview took third with a team score of 89, followed by Canby/Minneota in fourth (84), Yellow Medicine East in fifth (64), Wabasso in seventh (26) and Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central in eighth (5). Redwood Valley took first with a 132 while BOLD/BLH took second (95). On the girls side, Canby/Minneota took first with a team score of 127, followed by Lakeview in fifth (50), Wabasso in sixth (47.5), YME in seventh (34) and WWG/RRC in eighth (6). BOLD/BLH took second with a 123.5 while Redwood Valley took third (94).

Boys

Lakeview

In the 100 meters, Greg Schafer took first with a time of 11.10 seconds while Koltin Mulder took fifth (11.72 seconds) and Tyden Marczak took 18th (13.01 seconds). In the 200 meters, Schafer took first with a time of 22.89 seconds while Mulder took fifth (23.97 seconds) and Ethan Staab took ninth (24.95 seconds). In the 800 meters, Ethan Schwankl took first with a time of 1:58.68 while Cole Remiger took 15th (2:30.03). In the 1600 meters, Schwankl took first with a time of 4:59.23 while Remiger took ninth (5:30.46). In the 110 meter hurdles, Austin Pringle took fourth with a time of 19.24 seconds. In the 300 meter hurdles, Staab took second with a time of 43.10 seconds.

In the 4×100 meter relay, Lakeview took third with a time of 44.81 seconds. In the shot put, Kyran Neuman took third with a throw of 42-00 while Jackson Staab took 13th (30-06.50) and Lucas Taylor took 18th (25-07). In discus, Neuman took second with a throw of 117-05.50 while Nikolas Hartke took eighth (87-03) and Cody Helmke took 15th (70-10.50). In the high jump, Nathan Fenske took fourth with a height of 6-00 while Hartke took 10th (7-09) and Remiger took 11th (7-03) in the pole vault. In the long jump, Mulder took second with a distance of 20-05 while Ethan Staab took seventh (19-01.50) and Pringle took 13th (17-00.50). In the triple jump, Pringle took sixth with a distance of 36-04.50.

Canby/Minneota

In the 100 meters, Isaac Guza took eighth with a time of 12.05 seconds while Dylan Houseman took ninth (12.06 seconds). In the 200 meters, AJ Josephson took 17th with a time of 28.23 seconds. In the 400 meters, Trevor Gray took first with a time of 54.60 seconds while Josephson took fifth (57.80 seconds). In the 800 meters, Blake Stoks took third with a time of 2:07.22 while Zach Ourada took fourth (2:08.05) and Michael Tol took 16th (2:35.31). In the 1600 meters, Logan Myhre took 10th with a time of 5:31.24 while Sam Skorczewski took 12th (5:40.01). In the 3200 meters, Kolton Duis took first with a time of 10:30.57 while Blake Giese took third (11:02.97). In the 110 meter hurdles, Allen Maldonado took ninth with a time of 24.95 seconds. In the 200 meters, Brady Dahlager took seventh with a time of 24.46 seconds while Archie LaRose took 13th (26.22 seconds) and Moises Hidalgo took 15th (26.55 seconds). In the 400 meters, Xzavier Mikel took third with a time of 56.34 seconds. In the 800 meters, Dylan Castillo took 14th with a time of 2:25.90. In the 1600 meters, Castillo took eighth with a time of 5:28.92 while Connor Olson took 16th (5:59.98). In the 300 meter hurdles, Whitebuffalo took third with a time of 44.52 seconds.

In the 4×200 meter relay, YME took second with a time of 1:37.38. In the 4×400 meter relay, YME took fourth with a time of 3:50.30. In discus, Hoernemann took first with a throw of 124-05 while Ullrich took 13th (74-06) and Castillo took 16th (68-08). In the pole vault, Javier Jackson took third with a height of 9-09. In the 100 meters, Wyatt Soupir took 13th with a time of 12.33 seconds while Nolan Leopold took 16th (12.73 seconds) and Zachary Timm took 19th (13.57 seconds). In the 200 meters, Leopold took 16th with a time of 26.74 seconds. In the 400 meters, Soupir took second with a time of 55.90 seconds while Steven Lensing took 11th (1:01.69). In the 800 meters, Tavyn Larson took 13th with a time of 2:25.31 while Ty Bernardy took 17th (2:36.43) and Noah Pope took 18th (2:39.79). In the 1600 meters, Aidan Kampsen took 14th with a time of 5:47.67 while Bernardy took 15th (5:50.35) and Pope took 17th (6:01.61). In the 200 meters, Curry took fourth with a time of 23.93 seconds while Luke DeSmith took 12th (25.69 seconds). In the 110 meter hurdles, Bowen Hesse took eighth with a time of 22.63 seconds. In the 300 meter hurdles, Mark Mershon took ninth with a time of 55.89 seconds while Hesse took 12th (1:00.01). In discus, DeSmith took 17th with a throw of 63-10 while Mershon took 21st (47-06.50). In the 200 meters, RyAnn Hansen took fourth with a time of 27.52 seconds while Taylor Ourada took 15th (29.60 seconds) and Brynn Kockelman took 18th (30.51 seconds). In the 400 meters, Braelyn Merritt took first with a time of 1:02.32 while Kockelman took third (1:06.47) and Ourada took fourth (1:06.61). In the 800 meters, Lillie Wollum took eighth with a time of 2:48.36. In the 1600 meters, Claire Stoks took first with a time of 5:36.38 while Hannah Vlaminck took fifth (6:08.20) and Josie Frank took sixth (6:10.78). In the 200 meters, Gunlogson took first with a time of 27.16 seconds while Herrick took 13th (29.53 seconds) and Faith Louwagie took 17th (30.47 seconds). In the 400 meters, Louwagie took fifth with a time of 1:07.38 while Talyn Truwe took 16th (1:16.06) and Katelyn Matthys took 17th (1:16.95). In the 100 meters, Ambrosa Yang took 12th with a time of 14.47 seconds while Isabel Klumper took 13th (14.48 seconds). In the 200 meters, Klumper took 10th with a time of 29.17 seconds while Kelsey DeSmith took 12th (29.42 seconds) and Kenzie Albrecht took 23rd (34.97 seconds). In the 400 meters, Albrecht took 10th with a time of 1:13.25. In the 800 meters, Celia Vogel took 10th with a time of 2:53.33 while Miranda Mischke took 13th (3:06.59). In the 110 meter hurdles, Evelyn Rentschler took eighth with a time of 19.65 seconds while Elizabeth Wiggins took ninth (20.37 seconds). In the 300 meter hurdles, Rentschler took 13th with a time of 58.01 seconds.

In the shot put, Riley Parker took fifth with a throw of 28-04 while Rentschler took 16th (22-04). In discus, Alexis Vang took ninth with a throw of 70-04. In the high jump, DeSmith took fourth with a height of 4-09. In the pole vault, Parker took ninth (6-04). In the long jump, DeSmith took 11th (14-01) while Yang took 18th (12-10.25). In the triple jump, Wiggins took 12th with a distance of 28-04.

Section 3A sub-section (Montevideo)

MONTEVIDEO — The Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd boys and girls track and field teams competed in Day 1 of the Section 3A meet on Thursday in Montevideo. No team scores were available at press time.

Boys

In the 400 meters, Keegon Wicht took fifth with a time of 55.41 seconds. In the 800 meters, Mason Brehmer took sixth with a time of 2:14.33 while Justin Perkins took 14th (2:25.45) and Jordon Perkins took 15th (2:27.67). In the 3200 meters, Payton Sterud took first with a time of 10:33.02 while Gavin Carl took second (10:37.54). In the 110 meter hurdles, James Weber took second with a time of 17.18 seconds. In the 300 meter hurdles, Weber took first with a time of 44.42 seconds while Ethan Hersom took sixth (47.40 seconds) and Joseph Felton took 17th (58.57 seconds).

In the 4×200 meter relay, LQPV/DB took sixth with a time of 1:41.56. In the 4×400 meter relay, LQPV/DB took third with a time of 3:45.68. In the 4×800 meter relay, LQPV/DB took third with a time of 9:04.69. In the high jump, Brayson Boike took first with a height of 6-01 while Eli Hegland took second (5-09) and Hersom took seventh (5-03). In the 200 meters, Mya Conroy took fourth with a time of 28.64 seconds while Bothun took fifth (28.75 seconds) and Morgan Hanson took 16th (31.14 seconds). In the 400 meters, Addy Tufto took second with a time of 1:02.40 while Morgan Anderson took ninth (1:10.83). In the 800 meters, Taylor Wood took first with a time of 2:34.95 while Daytona Bissett took sixth (2:46.11) and Chloe Gloege took 11th (2:52.06). In the 1600 meters, Gloege took third with a time of 5:55.81 while Kendall Johnson took eighth (6:47.35) and Reese Ochsendorf took ninth (6:47.43). In the 100 meter hurdles, Ayiana Hastad took third with a time of 17.63 seconds while Kalista Bormann took fourth (18.14 seconds) and Andie Dockter took 15th (23.07 seconds).
