PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall wraps up regular season with 41-0 victory over Belle Plaine

BELLE PLAINE — The Marshall football team defeated Belle Plaine 41-0 to wrap up the regular season on Wednesday.

Chidi Nwakama led Marshall with 161 rushing yards on 11 carries and three touchdowns while Tate Condezo and Jake Eben each added a score on the ground. Defensively, Caden Fenger recorded three sacks while Andrew Wallen returned a fumble for a touchdown.

No other stats were available at press time.

Marshall (4-4) will find out its section opponent later this week.

TMB 29, MCW 14

TRACY – Tracy-Milroy-Balaton defeated Martin County West 29-14 on Wednesday.

Ayden Horner led TMB with 271 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Caden Anderson added 31 rushing yards in the win.

Alex Schuh led the Panthers defense with 7.5 tackles and a sack.

MACCRAY 18, YME 6

MAYNARD — MACCRAY defeated Yellow Medicine East 18-6 on Wednesday.

Nolan Hildahl led the Sting offense with four catches for 51 yards along with 50 rushing yards on 14 carries.

Cody Dahlager added a team-high 50 rushing yards, while Isaac Jimenez scored the lone points for YME on a 4-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

Lakeview 50, Canby 6

COTTONWOOD — The Lakeview football team defeated Canby 50-6 on Tuesday.

Clayton Kosel led Lakeview with 260 rushing yards on 20 carries and four touchdowns while Greg Schafer added 101 yards on the ground on eight carries and a score. Owen Louwagie completed seven of his 12 pass attempts for 62 yards and two touchdowns while Nathan Fenske led in receiving with 31 yards on three catches and a touchdown and Koltin Mulder added a 10-yard reception for a score.

Defensively, Kosel, Schafer, Kiegan Marczak, Caine Herigon and Ayden St. Pierre led Lakeview with two total tackles each.

No stats for Canby were available at press time.

Both Lakeview (7-1) and Canby (3-5) will find out their section opponents later this week.

Karli Arkell led RRC with 14 kills. Lilly Stavnes led in digs with 17 while Arkell added 14 and Nora Hemmingsen led in set assists with 14.

Alivia Olson led Wabasso with nine kills while Audrey Johnson led in digs with 10 while Sara Carlson had seven. Kelsey Frank led in set assists with 16.

TRACY — Multiple area cross country teams competed in the Tracy Invite on Tuesday. On the girls side, Canby/Minneota took first with a team score of 25 while Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd took second (63), Tracy-Milroy-Balaton took fourth (128), Russell-Tyler-Ruthton took fifth (131) and Yellow Medicine East took sixth (137). Lakeview recorded an incomplete team score. On the boys side, LQPV/DB took first with a team score of 34 while Canby/Minneota took second (36), Lakeview took fifth (126) and RTR took seventh (158). TMB and YME recorded an incomplete team score.

For Canby/Minneota, Grace Drietz took first with a time of 19:51 while Braelyn Merritt took second with a time of 20:03.87, Claire Stoks took third with a time of 20:06.62, Hannah Vlaminck took eighth with a time of 22:29.62, Nohemi Diaz took 13th with a time of 23:15.87, Lillie Wollum took 15th with a time of 23:33.22 and Hannah Fadness took 21st with a time of 24:08.96 to round out their times.
