CLASS A GOLF: Area golfers compete in opening round of state meet
BECKER — Eleven area golfers kicked off their opening rounds at the Class A meet on Tuesday at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker. The final round will be held today, with the girls starting at 7 a.m. and the boys starting at noon.
Boys
On the boys side, Dawson-Boyd’s Collin Swedzinski shot an opening-round 79 (7-over) and is currently tied for 16th. He will start his final round at 12:27 p.m. today. Canby’s Jake Wagner had an 80 in his first round and is currently tied for 19th. He will start his final round at 12:27 p.m.
Lakeview’s Carson Boe fired an 81 in his first round and is currently tied for 21st. He will start his final round today at 12:18 p.m. Wabasso’s Will Carlson had an 83 in his first round and is tied for 33rd. He will start his final round at 12:09 p.m.
Russell-Tyler-Ruthton’s Chase Christensen had an 89 in his first round and is currently tied for 58th. He will start his final round at noon. Murray County Central’s Dawson Tutt had a 100 in his first round and is currently tied for 76th. He will start his final round at noon.
Girls
On the girls side, Minneota’s Lauren Bowyer shot an opening-round 91 (19-over) and is currently tied for 13th. She will start her final round at 8:06 a.m. today. Dawson-Boyd’s Ella Mork had a 92 in her first round and is currently tied for 18th. She will start her final round at 7:57 a.m. today.
Mork’s teammates, Rachael Lund and Elly Stratmoen, also competed on Tuesday. Lund had a 98 in her first round and is currently tied for 36th. She will start her final round at 7:48 a.m. Stratmoen fired a 113 in her first round and is currently in 72nd. She will start her final round at 7:30 a.m.
RTR’s Shae O’Leary shot a 96 in her first round and is currently tied for 28th. She will start her final round today at 7:57 a.m.
