SMSU GOLF: SMSU’s Kohls named All-NSIC second team

BURNSVILLE — Southwest Minnesota State University senior Hannah Kohls was named to the 2021 women’s golf All-NSIC second team as selected by the conference coaches the league office announced on Thursday.

Kohls, a native of Forest Lake, is the first SMSU player to earn all-conference honors since 2018.

Kohls led SMSU this season with an 82.5 stroke average in 11 rounds, which included two top five finishes and three top 10 finishes. She finished the season with three rounds of sub-80, including a season-low 3-under-par 75 in the first round of the Mustang/Maverick Dual on April 8. Kohls closed the season placing tied for ninth at the NSIC Championships on April 23-25.

Kohls, who is planning on returning next season due to COVID canceling the 2020 spring season, ranks fourth in team history with an 82.3 average in 61 rounds.
