Marshall Pee Wee A, B and Squirt B Orange record weekend wins

MARSHALL — The Marshall Amateur Hockey Association Pee Wee A, B and Squirt B Orange teams all competed over the weekend, with Pee Wee B going 2-1, Pee Wee A going 1-1 and Squirt B Orange going 1-3.

Pee Wee B

The Marshall Amateur Hockey Association Pee Wee B team went 2-1 over the weekend, falling to Redwood Area on Saturday before defeating Worthington and Fairmont on Sunday.

The Tigers started the weekend hosting Redwood Area on Saturday. The teams battled to a 0-0 stalemate in the first period, but the Cardinals scored four goals in the second to take the lead. Brayden Gratz (Hayden Guggisberg assist) and Riley Pfannschmidt (unassisted) got Marshall on the board in the third, but Redwood Area added another to take the 5-2 win. Kirby Meulebroeck recorded 20 saves in the loss.

On Sunday the Tigers hit the road, starting with a 6-3 win over Worthington. A balanced attack with two goals per period kept Marshall comfortably in the lead the entire game. Selby Anderson led the way with a hat trick while Henry Horvath added a pair of goals. Salem Frost scored the final goal to go with an assist while Riley Pfannschmidt added three assists and Andrew Bot pitched in another assist. Colby Allen made 21 saves in the win.

Marshall headed down I-90 to face Fairmont, where they came away with an 8-0 shutout.

Pfannschmidt led the scoring with four goals. Horvath pitched in two more goals while Gratz and Frost each had one. Anderson had three assists while Frost and Bot each tallied one. Meulebroeck had four saves in the shutout.

Pee Wee A

The MAHA Pee Wee A team went 1-1 for the weekend, starting with a big win over Fairmont before falling to Luverne on Sunday.

The Tigers went on an offensive spree on Saturday, defeating Fairmont 19-2. Easton Larson led the way with four goals and three assists. Carson Kopitski came away with four goals and an assist while Eathan Boeck had three goals and an assist. Jacob Allen pitched in a pair of goals and an assist with Nate Drown right behind with a pair of goals. Easton Jiskoot, Easton Greenwood and Xander Oey all tallied a goal and an assist while Kota Peterson had a goal and Tate Mellenthin had an assist. McCoy Gunther had 17 saves in the win.

The Tigers hosted Luverne on Sunday, but were unable to find the net, falling to the Cardinals 12-0. Carson Becker had 20 saves in the loss.

Squirt B Orange

The Squirt B Orange team had a trio of games and a scrimmage, going 1-3 over the weekend, defeating Windom while falling to Redwood Area twice and Hutchinson in a scrimmage.

The Tigers were on the road on Saturday, falling to Redwood Area 4-0 to start the day. Sawyer Bresnahan had three saves in the loss.

Later that afternoon, Marshall was in Windom, where they came away with a 6-2 win. Braylon Oey and Morgan Rokeh each had a pair of goals while Chase Renken added a goal and an assist. Aric Ewald also added a goal while Bresnahan finished with three saves.

On Sunday, the Tigers started in Hutchinson, falling 7-1 in a scrimmage. Colby Gunther had the lone Marshall goal.

The Tigers would return home to host Redwood Area, falling 5-1. Liam Deutz scored Marshall’s goal. Bresnahan finished with 18 saves in the loss.
