MARSHALL — The Marshall Amateur Hockey Association Pee Wee teams hit the ground running after the shutdown, hosting the Pee Wee Prairie Shootout in Marshall this past weekend. The Pee Wee A team finished the tournament 0-2-1 while the Pee Wee B team went 0-4. The Squirt B Orange team traveled to Worthington and Spirit Lake (Iowa), going 1-1 on the weekend.

The Pee Wee A team opened the tournament with a 4-4 tie against Prairie Center on Friday night. Easton Jiskoot scored on a Jacob Allen assist to put the Tigers on the board in the first period. Marshall was held scoreless in the second period, but a pair of goals from Owen Renslow, one with an assist from Nate Drown, split by an Allen goal with an Ethan Boeck assist gave the Tigers a 4-4 tie. Goalie Carson Becker make nine saves in the tie.

Later in the evening, the Tigers were back on the ice facing Rosemount. The Irish opened a 3-0 lead after the first period. On Sunday, the Pee Wee A team continued play, hosting Waconia after their Tournament. The Tigers were able to match the Wildcats first two goals of the game thanks to Renslow (Allen assist) and Koda Peterson (Larson assist) goals, but Waconia reeled off three more first-period goals to take the lead. Neither team found the net in the second period, but the Wildcats added a final goal in the third to make it 6-2.

In the B bracket of the tournament, the Tigers opened Friday against Sioux Falls (S.D.), falling 6-0 to the Flyers. Kirby Meulebroeck made 37 saves in the loss. On Saturday, the Pee Wee B team fell to Detroit Lakes 7-0 and New Prague 10-1 with Selby Anderson scoring the Tigers goal with an assist from Riley Pfannschmidt. Colby Allen and Meulebroeck made 17 and 31 saves respectively.

On Sunday, Marshall faced Luverne in their final game of the weekend. The Tigers were unable to get on the board until Pfannschmidt scored unassisted, but Marshall lost 7-1 in the finale. Allen ended the game with 22 saves.

The Squirt B Orange team restarted their season on Saturday in Worthington. The Tigers kept the Trojans off the board in the first period, but in just over three minutes, Marshall found itself down 3-0. Braylon Oey scored the lone Tiger goal of the game and Marshall fell 3-1.
