SMSU TRACK AND FIELD: SMSU breaks several school records at SDSU Last Chance Invite

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State track and field team broke several school records again today at the SDSU Last Chance Meet in Brookings, S.D., on Friday afternoon.

Kayla Jansky won the 600m race with a 1:39.88 mark to break the SMSU record while Ashlyn Jones had a three-way tie at first with a 1.69m mark in the high jump to also go in the SMSU history books.

SMSU finished with several other top finishes as Isaiah Nelson came in second in the triple jump and third in the long jump.

Rebecca Manteuffel came in second in the weight throw with an 18.63m mark and fifth in the shot put with a 13.76m mark.

Kyle Felling came in second in the 200m dash with 22.05 time and Quan Williams also came in second din the 60m dash with a 7.13 time.

Southwest Minnesota State competes at the NSIC Indoor Championships on Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, Feb. 29, in Mankato.
