YOUTH SOCCER: Marshall 12U, 14U boys teams earn victories

MARSHALL – The Marshall United boys 12U and 14U soccer teams were victorious last week.

12U

The Marshall 12U boys team maintained its lead in their division with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Mankato Tuesday evening. Goals were scored by Jack Alberts and Anthony Meza plus a Mankato own goal while Karsten Springborg and Augie Sturrock each put in a solid effort in goal.

14U

The Marshall 14U boys team traveled to Willmar on Thursday and came away with a 6-0 victory. Ethan Hess led the way with a hat trick while Jared Hernandez added two goals and Roberto Garcia had one of his own.

Marshall (6-1) is currently in second place in their group and will face Fairmont today.
