SMSU GOLF: Mustangs conclude first day of SMSU Invite in Arizona

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s golf team opened its spring season on Monday hosting the first round of the seven-team SMSU Invite held at the Wigwam Resort Red Course.

SMSU is in seventh place after finishing the day shooting a 68-over-par 356. Hannah Kohls led the Mustangs with a 13-over 85, which is currently tied for 18th in the 44-player field.

Anneke Weg is tied for 22nd following a 16-over 88, Anna Davison shot an 18-over 90 and is tied for 30th, Hallie Will is tied for 36th after a 93, while Katelyn Toner finished with a 38-over 110.

Western New Mexico is the first round leader with a score of 34-over 322. Brenda Dominguez from Western New Mexico is the individual leader following round one with a 2-over 74.

Today’s final round begins at 9 a.m. CDT.
