YOUTH HOCKEY: Marshall Squirt B hockey drops trio of games over the weekend
MARSHALL – The MAHA Squirt B hockey was able to outshoot two of their three opponents over the weekend, but were unable to find the back of the net enough times to record a victory either day.
On Saturday, The Tigers faced off against Windom to start the day. Marshall outshot the Eagles 19-17, but Henry Horvath had the lone goal with an assist from Brayden Grats, and the Tigers fell 8-1.
In the nightcap, Marshall faced off against Mankato. The Tigers again outshot their opponent, taking a 9-1 edge, but the Mankato goalie came away with the shutout, and Marshall lost 4-0.
On Sunday, The Tigers traveled to Sleepy Eye to face New Ulm/Sleepy Eye. After a close first period, the Eagles led 2-0, but a six-goal second period was too much for Marshall to overcome. NUSE added three more in the third for an 11-0 win over the Tigers.
Goalies Colby Allen and Taedan Smith combined for 48 saves over the three games for the Tigers.
