SMSU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Mustangs host UMC and BSU in weekend homestand

MARSHALL – The Southwest Minnesota State University women’s basketball team (9-10, 6-8 NSIC) hosts Minnesota Crookston (10-10, 5-9 NSIC) and Bemidji State (5-13, 3-11 NSIC) for weekend homestand, including the annual “Hawaiian Night.”

SMSU quick hits

• Last Saturday’s victory over Upper Iowa marks the ninth victory for SMSU this season. It’s the first time SMSU has earned nine victories in a season since the 2009-10 season.

•Meleah Reinhart led both games this weekend and has led for the past five games.

•Brooklyn Bachman leads the team in scoring with 10.0 ppg.

•Taylor Bray averages 4.6 rpg for a team-high.

•Trinity Myer averages a team high 2.5 apg.

•BSU is shooting 39 percent from the field, 30 percent from the 3-point range, 67 percent from the free throw line and is minus-7.4 in rebound margin.

•BSU is averaging 60.7 points per game, while opponents are averaging 68.2 points per game.
