SMSU GOLF: Central Region Preview final round canceled
OLATHE, Kan. – The final round of the Central Region Preview at Prairie Highlands Golf Club was canceled on Wednesday due to rain in the area.
Southwest Minnesota State shot a 51-over-par 339 in Tuesday’s opening round and finishes the tournament in 17th place.
Northeastern State (Okla.) was declared the tournament champion with a 14-over 302, one shot ahead of second place Arkansas Tech and Central Missouri.
Sophomore Hannah Kohls led SMSU on Tuesday with a 9-over 81 and is currently tied for 48th in the 90-player field. Freshmen Grace Miller carded a round of 10-over 82 and is tied for 56th. Sophomore Hallie Will is tied for 81st with a 14-over 86, Sydney O’Brien shot an 18-over 90 and is tied for 88, while freshman Anneke Weg shot a 30-over 100. Freshman Anna Davison played as an individual and is tied for 67th with an 11-over 83.
Southwest Minnesota State returns to action on Sept. 17-18 at the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bear Classic at Stoneridge Golf Club in Stillwater.
