AREA BASEBALL: Marshall Baseball Association to induct two new members to Hall of Fame tonight

MARSHALL – The Marshall Baseball Association (MBA) and the Marshall A’s will induct two members into the Marshall Baseball Hall of Fame tonight at Legion Field.

The Ace Hardware/MDI Marshall Baseball Hall of Fame class will be inducted in a ceremony prior to Marshall’s game versus Pipestone starting at 7:30 p.m.

The 2018 Hall of Fame inductees are Dale Erickson and Jim Culhane. Both played vital roles in the early stages of the Marshall Area Youth Baseball Association (MAYBA). Erickson spent 12 years as VFW baseball coordinator, as well as serving many seasons on the Marshall Baseball Association board. Culhane coached eleven seasons at Marshall Blue, Orange and Red levels, including four state tournament appearances.

Prior to the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies on Friday, the fourth annual Marshall A’s Alumni Home Run Derby contest will be held starting at 6:30 p.m.

The weekend will conclude on Saturday, with the 8th Annual Marshall A’s Golf Tournament at the Marshall Golf Club. The two-person scramble will begin at 12 p.m. and costs $50. All players, alumni, fans and friends are welcome to play and support the A’s. Space is limited, so sign-up today.
