PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marshall boys hockey continues hot streak with win over New Ulm

NEW ULM — Marshall held on to defeat New Ulm 3-2 on Thursday night.

New Ulm tried to come back from a 3-0 hole, scoring twice in the game’s final 2:37.

Tristan VanDeVere scored twice in the win, while Bryson White scored the other goals.

Marshall goalie Dominik Caspers recorded 31 saves in the win.

Marshall (13-4) travels to Windom Area on Monday.

DAWSON — In a matchup of two of the top teams in Section 3A, it was Dawson-Boyd giving Minneota its first loss of the season. Dawson-Boyd won 73-67.

Bentley Boike led the way for the Blackjacks, finishing with 22 points 11 rebounds. Alex Swenson added 15 points and six rebounds in the win, while Jake Lee added 12 points and a team-high five assists.

Thomas Hennen led Minneota with 27 points.

Dawson-Boyd (8-4, 7-2 Camden) will play at Yellow Medicine East on Tuesday, while Minneota (11-1, 7-1 Camden) will host Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Tuesday.
