Six injured in Montevideo crash
MONTEVIDEO — A total of six people, including five juveniles, were injured in a head-on crash Wednesday evening in the city of Montevideo. Montevideo Police said one person hurt in the crash was airlifted by helicopter due to the severity of their injuries.
A two-vehicle collision was reported on River Road in Montevideo around 5:18 p.m., Police said. Responders had to extricate occupants of one of the vehicles.
A Wednesday night news release from the Montevideo Police Department did not identify the people involved in the crash. However, Police said one adult and five juveniles extricated from a vehicle were transported to CCM Health and Avera Granite Falls Hospitals for medical treatment. The driver of the vehicle was airlifted due to the severity of their injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash did not report any injuries, Police said.
Montevideo Police, the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, CCM Health Ambulance, Granite Falls Ambulance, the Montevideo Fire Department and Life Link Helicopter all responded at the scene.
