RRC School placed in lockdown during threat investigation
LAMBERTON — The Red Rock Central school in Lamberton was placed under lockdown on Tuesday morning in response to threats on social media. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said law enforcement was able to identify the source of the threats, and a juvenile male was taken into custody.
The Sheriff’s Office said RRC students and staff were not in danger, and the school was reopened later on Tuesday morning.
Lamberton Police and the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about threats directed at the RRC school and staff over social media, law enforcement said in a Tuesday news release. The school was put into lockdown to investigate. After investigation, a juvenile male who made the threats was taken into custody. The Sheriff’s Office said charges are pending.
