REDWOOD COUNTY — Fireworks were used to damage property in rural Redwood County over the holiday weekend. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that it is looking for information regarding damage to two mailboxes. The incidents are under investigation.

In a news release, the Sheriff’s Office said it received two reports Sunday about property damage in Sundown and Brookeville townships. When law enforcement spoke to the two property owners, officers learned that in each case an unknown person had put fireworks inside a mailbox and lit them. The fireworks caused the mailboxes to break, the Sheriff’s Office said.
