Shed fire destroys 23 golf carts
WESTBROOK — Twenty-three golf carts went up in flames Thursday evening at Rolling Hills, a nine-hole regulation course located at the Rolling Hills Golf Club facility in Westbrook.
“They were completely engulfed,” said Jennifer Flint, the general manager. The incident happened at 5 p.m. Thursday.
“One of our members was working on his golf cart, trying to get it started, when it started on fire. He wheeled it out of his private shed to save the shed and it set the other shed on fire.”
Flint said there were no injuries. “No one was out there at the time.” As far as she knows, the golf carts were all insured.
