Radio station back on the air

MARSHALL – Marshall Radio’s station KMHL 1400 announced on Wednesday it’s back on the air after making repairs to its tower after a fire July 14.

“As of yesterday late afternoon, Marshall Radio’s station KMHL 1400 is up and running again,” said a post on Marshall Radio’s Facebook page. “Due to a tower fire last Friday, the programming was knocked off the air for KMHL. This resulted in the AM signal needing repairs in order to run again.”

“After hard work and a late night by those involved in repairing the AM signal and other parts of the tower affected by the fire, 1400 is back on the air,” the post said. “The tower is still in need of some minor repairs to complete the fix, so some time this week or next week.”

A Marshall police officer discovered the fire behind the station on East College Drive.

Marshall Radio Station Manager Brad Strootman told the Independent on July 14 that the fire is thought to be linked to recent electrical work on the tower.
