Dear Heloise: As a professional pet sitter, I have some advice for people who are leaving for a few (or several) days. Your pets will be OK if you remember the following common-sense things to do: -- If your pet is on medication, write out when and how the medication is to be taken. Make sure that there is enough for the whole time you’re gone. -- Write out instructions on when to walk a dog or whether your cat is allowed outside. Dear Dr. Roach: I am a 50-year-old overweight woman (5 feet, 6 inches tall at 240 pounds). So far, I am not diabetic, but my A1C has been creeping upward. Dear Heloise: I read with great interest the letter from Sharon, in Middletown, Ohio. I, too, mourn the loss of cursive writing and know many young people who are able to text on their phones with impressive speed but are unable to write their own names.
