MORTON — Elijah Winn wrapped up the first day of the Dacotah Ridge in the top 10 of the 110-player leaderboard. With another day to play, Marshall currently sits in 13th place out of 18 teams in the tournament. The Tigers fielded a team score of 316 on the first day of competition. Of the 12 teams ahead of Class 2A Marshall, 11 are Class 3A squads. Winn posted a 1-over 73 on the day. He was 3-under through his first nine holes and finished the day with five birdies. MCC 30, HLOF 24 OKABENA — No lead was safe in the Murray County Central softball team’s Red Rock Conference matchup against Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda on Thursday. Dawson-Boyd 9, Canby 8 CANBY — Colten Bothun came up strong in the clutch for the Dawson-Boyd baseball team in its Camden Conference matchup against Canby Thursday night. BIG SOUTH GIRLS ST. PETER — Anna Thor and Dayton Webskowski both put together top-5 rounds at Thursday’s Big South Conference girls golf meet at Shoreland Country Club in St. Peter. The Marshall Tigers rode that momentum to a first-place finish in the seven-team event. Webskowski topped the 41-player field with a 6-over 41, beating individual runner-up Natalie Salfer of St. Peter by six strokes. COTTONWOOD — Nolan Leopold, Tavyn Larson and Tyson Lightfoot helped lead the Wabasso boys track and field team to a first-place finish at the Lakeview Invitational on Thursday.
